Kenny Chesney is one of my all-time favorite artists. To me, his songs are timeless and really speak to me about specific times in my life. I have always thought that he had a great sense about the importance of his fans.

I learned recently, though, that he has a marketing degree from East Tennessee State University. The blog can be found here on MediaPost.

From his marketing degree, he must have learned the importance of top-of-mind awareness. This may explain why he is the “hardest working” country music artist — he is always on tour. I don’t remember a time when he seemed to be on hiatus from his fans. His last eight summer tours have all been sell-outs. Last summer (2010), he did not tour, but released a movie about his summer tours — ingenious!

Not only is he a superior singer-songwriter, but he has a great marketing mind.
