In this business we handle all kinds of photoshoots for products, facilities, manufacturing processes, etc. But recently I learned a lesson: all photoshoots are not created equal.

Over the last several weeks, I was involved in two distinctly different shoots. The first was a grueling 10-hour day in a manufacturing facility. We all worked extremely hard in a tough environment to get fantastic shots for a brochure we developed.

Several days later, it was… well a little different to say the least. I had the pleasure of working on a photoshoot for Aerialite, a fabric used in manufacturing surfboards. Along with – obviously – a surfboard, the shoot involved Kristen Dalton, Miss USA 2009, wearing very fashionable bathing suits.

I have to admit that after working on this shoot, my perception of pageant queens totally changed. I found Kristen to not only be extremely attractive, but fun, smart and a pleasure to be around. Plus, she was a real pro in front of the camera, which helped us get some unbelievable shots for our ads. Judge for yourself by the photo on the left. You will also be able to see more of the photoshoot when we launch Aerialite’s new Facebook page in the next few days.

In order to top this next year, however, I think the next Aerialite shoot will need to be on the beach.
